Fresh Grilled Pineapple

Fresh pineapple is one of my favorite things in the whole entire world. Nothing against pineapple from a can, but it’s just not the same. Where I live, you can really only buy ripe pineapple from the store for a couple of months during the summer, so you better believe I’m taking advantage of it!

Now as good as pineapple is on its own, throw it on the grill, let it cook in its own sweet juices, and that’s about as good as something can taste. Then brush some Cinnamon Brown Sugar Honey Butter on there and your mouth almost explodes from all the delicious flavor!

Versatility of Grilled Pineapple

One of the great things about grilling pineapple is that the beautiful tart taste can be added to a lot of different things. The Cinnamon Butter adds a hint of sweetness and heat. Try adding it to a burger or even a grilled ham sandwich. Chunk it up and stick it on a skewer the next time you’re doing kebabs! Add it to salsa or crush it up and use it as an ice cream topping!

Side note. I went to an ice cream and cookie place in San Diego, and they had an unbelievably delicious pineapple coconut sorbet with cherries. It was absolutely to die for! One of the best sorbets/ice creams I’ve ever had. I could just eat that for my entire lunch every day. Sorry. A tangent. But I was thinking about it.

Barbecue or Cookout?

When you’re going to go cook some meat on the grill, do you call it a barbecue? Or a cookout? I grew up saying cookout. It wasn’t until I came west that I heard people saying they were “going to have a barbecue.” What do you say? Well, I guarantee, once Cinnamon Grilled Pineapple has entered your life, you’ll be saying it a lot more!

Ingredients
  • 1 pineapple, peeled, cored, and cut into spears
  • 1/2 cup Cinnamon Brown Sugar Butter
Instructions
  1. Heat grill to Medium High Heat
  2. Cut Pineapple into spears about 1-2 inches thick
  3. Place spears on grill
  4. Baste generously with Cinnamon Butter
  5. Cook 5 minutes
  6. Flip the spears to the other side and brush with butter again
  7. Cook 5 minutes or until tender and hot

Breakfast is the important meal of the day! You’ve got to eat at the beginning of the day in order to have a productive, energetic, and happy morning– and afternoon! But sadly, sometimes we either don’t eat breakfast at all, or we eat something void of any nutritional value. Even things that are touted as healthy often aren’t. For example, a muffin that has the same amount of sugar as a cupcake.

Instructions
  1. Shred potatoes & onion.
  2. Blanch shredded potato in boiling water for 3 minutes.
  3. Strain off all water completely.
  4. Melt 4 oz Chef Shamy Butter into a pan, then stir into potatoes and onions, coating all pieces.
  5. Heat skillet to high. Sauté mix until brown and turn.
  6. Brown again and serve.
  7. Serve with your favorite omelet or scrambled eggs. Add Shredded cheddar cheese for an extra treat.

Garlic, Chicken, and Spinach White Pizza

Pizza with a Twist

Have you ever met anyone who doesn’t like pizza? I honestly haven’t. Everyone likes pizza! At least, everyone likes regular pizza. White pizza is a whole different story, and not everyone likes it. For those who don’t know, white pizza is a twist on the classic pie; instead of red sauce, it’s replaced with ricotta cheese or Alfredo sauce.  Pizza is a staple food in my household. And I’ve got to be honest, every once in a while, it’s nice to take a break from the traditional slice to something a little different.

White Pizza the Right Way

Pizza without the classic red sauce can be difficult to pull off– a lot of people fault a white pizza for being boring or bland. But you know what the answer is to that: Chef Shamy Parmesan Basil Garlic ButterThe flavor of our Garlic Butter is dynamite, and it knocks my socks off in this recipe. Garlic is usually a crucial ingredients in white pizza– it’s much needed to cut through all the fat of the ricotta.
